Ahh the allure and romance of handmade. Is there anything more precious? We highly doubt it. Especially when you come across the work of designers like Emma Cassi, who with patience and unmatched talent, blends the sweet sensibilities of her native France with her new adopted home of London. Both dainty yet rustic, the marriage of lace and embroidery are what leave us captivated. Every item in Emma’s collection has been stitched, beaded and embroidered by hand with vintage sequins, Japanese glass beads, semi-precious stones, crystals, Swarovski, and gemstones. We love how she describes her pieces are like modern antiques that never go out of style. We couldn’t have said it better! Plus, every girl needs timeless beauty in their Pandora’s box to play with. What better way to keep our emerging designer bits trekking along than to do it editorial style? From the print pages of Dujour to our daily blog, we’ll be sharing teasers from new issues as well as exclusive online editorials that feature indie designers only the way we can. Because let’s face it, you won’t be finding it anytime soon in Vogue right!

Our first new editorial features photography by Agustina Rodriguez with styling by designer Manuel Bolano who happens to be showing at 080 Barcelona Fashion Week this July. Seeing as how we are already in the pre-fall mood, this gorgeous embellished jacket is looking like heaven on a hanger (or model)!

Finally! From the pages of our magazine to our online blog, we are delighted to welcome P.S.- you forgot your personal style. In the print magazine, we showcase some of our fave picks from independent designers that are unique and represent individualism, not trend conforming. Well, what better way to bring it online than personal style posts each week! We know, we know…the bandwagon for this has long come and passed, but alas, we are Dujour girls and no one quite rocks it out like we do. We love, love how she incorporates this season’s trends while staying true to her urban rock personality, and while being quite budget-friendly. 80’s shorts a la Sex and the City, tribal tee for an ethnic twist, and of course, denim to top it all off. Swoon.

Miss Louise Ebel is the 21 year-old author and creator of the popular fashion and lifestyle blog Pandora. Louise lives in Paris, studies art history, and has some of the most fabulous clothes and pictures I’ve seen since the Cherry Blossom Girl, with whom she is very dear friends with!

Her style is uniquely feminine, yet bohemian-chic, with a subtle twist of indie thrown into the mix. I simply can’t get enough of this beautiful trendsetter!

Crystals, gems, and stones aren’t just for healing power and clarity a la Spencer Pratt; they also make lovely jewelry and intriguing statement pieces. You’ll be sure to realign all of your chakras with Debra Baxter’s crystal brass knuckle ring…and maybe those in the nearby vicinity, too!

Designer Natalie Dissel fuses these gems with precious gold or silver to create an almost fairytale-perfect piece of whimsical jewelry. We are loving her Amethyst Rough Rock Ring and Giant Rose Quartz Ring and want them on our little fingers immediately!

This dyed sorbet and carrot Tiffany necklace by Gemma Redux is what I would call an authentic conversation starter! (Not to mention, we are like white on rice for any accesory with food names in the description.) The chains make it a little less informal, which makes it a versatile piece that can be worn whether dressed up or down.

Maybe Bona Drag’s Unearthen Necklace is more your style, with a stunning crystal encased in a .22 caliber antique bullet casing, for when you’re feeling especially superheroine chic! Not to mention the beautiful packaging the necklace comes in, you may simply never want to take it out.

And if you can’t take the heat, get out the kitchen in Lauren Moshi’s adorable gem heart babydoll dress. Sometimes its just the idea that counts!

Don’t be weary to add a crystal or stone-inspired jewelry piece to your collection, because no matter the trend Dujour girls wear, we always look great with our cheeky smiles, wiggle in our hips, and perfected hair flip!

Sorry New Zealand designers, Dujour has found a new mascot in Miss Unkon! We’ve not seen a brand this in tune with our dreamy, whimsical, feminine aesthetic since…well ever! It’s definitely love at first sight.

For ss10, Miss Unkon’s collection oozes so much glorious ruffles, flowers and baby-doll pink to turn us into pure addicts who will need a daily fix. Not one to make a good girl go bad all the way, Miss Unkon serves us a tolerable dose of cheekiness and mischief as well.

The latest Spring Summer 2010-11 lookbook, Love is Like a Dreamland, is boho chic hits the streets. At times we want to head to Woodstock with our daisy headbands, while other looks leave us dreaming of a white unicorn to whisk us away to our prince.
