You know, here at Dujour, we try not to be act on favoritism when possible. But what about those exceptions? What about those moments when you want to climb the Empire Building or Eiffel tower and shout from the rooftops a la King Kong, beat your chest, and proclaim your love? Is it okay then? We sure do hope so, because we are head over heels for new Etsy discovery, Flora Bond. Just a vintage-junkie mom living in Idaho, Flora Bond was started in fall of 2008 and has been ravaging the necks and pretty heads of girls ever since. She even has her own mascots!

We racked our brains. We paced up and down. We even had 5 cupcakes to soothe the anxiety (who are we kidding, we’d use any old excuse). And finally, we settled on this. The best way to polish off the week and celebrate Fridays- an Etsy roundup of course! But not just any old roundup. Our roundup is exclusively via Papernstitch, one of the best curated sites around.

We’ve been a little decor crazy this month here at Dujour, so for week 2 of our tgif posts, its all about cushions, fabrics and prints! Do tell us what you think!

Oh boy, oh boy are we newly in love with Etsy shop, Indo Bay Textiles. So sweet. So charming. So quirky and perfect for summertime decor ideas! Her “Home Sweet Home” linen banner is hand printed with loving care.

We hear robots. Do you heart robots? Well you will now. How can anyone deny their love for these adorable robot pillow cases from Mengsel.

Its summer and our nomadic nature is itching to come out. We already covered all of Montreal, Chicago, Wisconsin and Michigan for travel issue. What are your next stops? We hear on twitter some of you are planning road trips to remember! Well, hang a little mobile manor on your wall from Moxie Doll, and never forget those plans!

Satchets are oh so cute, and make the perfect gift any time of year. But what better time than now to remind that special friend you are thinking about them with the sweet delicate smells of summer! Don’t get your ruffles in a bunch, we’ve got just the thing. These lavender filled satchet pillows have our vote for their whimsy, colorful and artistic nature.

And alas, we couldn’t just pick one cushion…two of them were vying for our attention and we could not look away. Whether you are gifting a custom love note or simple need a little animal fun whilst sleeping, these postcard and Rhino pillows will do just the trick.

Admittedly, it makes our job easier, since the creme de la creme of handmade indie design is just waiting to be plucked.

We’ve been a little accessory crazy this week here at Dujour, so our first tgif post is all about jewels, head pieces and the bags you wish you could wear! Do tell us what you think!

Oh come on! You name the necklace Heidi (such a sweet name that always made us thing of innocent little pigtailed girls, well, until MTV) and then throw ballet slipper pink in the description? Of course we’re going to love it! But not only that, in the same shop, Bride Blu, you’ll find a gorgeous vintage scalloped rhinestone necklace that, no joke, is identical to the one our editor snatched up while in Montreal. Jewel sisters anyone? (Beats blood brothers right?) Get them both here.

What can we say. Our love for indie runs deep. But we have to agree with Maria, designer of Nosideup- Sex and the City made us want to be bad, real bad. Skip your rent and phone bills to buy a LV bag on eBay kind of bad. But why not blend two loves together? Indie designer makes It Bag parody in an artistic fashion. Voila! A summer tote to be proud of. Get it here.

Not sure what’s in the water, but we are hair accessory crazy these days. But its so pelting hot, so please, no PVC or leather today. No worries, Little Birdie Design Studio has got you covered! Their blossoming fabric headband is so light and sweet, we wish it were legal to walk outside only wearing headpieces. No, not yet? One can dream! Get it here.

Just in case you didn’t hear us loud and clear, its hot, hot, hot! Who can even think about scarves, let alone knitted anything, when all we want to do is jump in our neighbors pool (sorry for all the illegal activity suggestions today). But fear not dolls, you can strike a balance with a scarf that doubles more as a knitted necklace. Get this beautiful mint green chain scarf from Miti-Mota here.

Caitlin Quiet (AKA Caitlin Shearer, a twenty year old Aussie) will soon need no introduction. She is making gals and guys alike swoon all over the world, from her home in Australia all the way to Asia and back again. Her adorable characters can be found on everything from prints to totes. And shhh, anyone buying our Vintage Issue will not only get a chance to read our fabulous feature interview with Ms. Amazing herself, they might even score a print hidden inside the mag!

At any given time you’ll find Caitlin drawing beautiful watercolour pictures of girls wearing pretty dresses and delicate underwear. Her uniquely odd drawings have been commissioned by Hopeless Lingerie for their Rosie Pepper and Jewel Thief collections, and are available as prints or on lovely t-shirts.
