Love is definitely in the air this season; even some of our own Dujour girls and editors are getting married! And who doesn’t dream of a pink wedding? Pink on pink in the palest subtle shades of blush, a rose never smelled so sweet…these palest of pale pink confections are 100% silk chiffon over layers of silk charmeuse, and made by hand and available at Claire la Faye. Now this is a wedding we would attend!

We have to admit, Dujour girls are drawn to anything bright and frilly, the way kids are drawn to the scent of sugar from a mile away. So it should come as no surprise that we’re loving Pom Love, an Etsy boutique selling handmade tissue decor. What do you reckon? Is our obsession valid?

Here’s the thing. Us Dujour girls don’t do grown up all to well. Adult, shhmudult. Who needs to pay bills when we can all just eat cupcakes and watch Glee re-runs right, right!? Well, it seems society is telling us this is not the case. So whats a damsel to do? Play grown up! Yes, you heard right…we have actually found a way to be grown and responsible while still playing around. Our little hidden gem of a secret is the lovely Etsy shop Playing Grown Up, also available at our beloved and beautifully curated Paper-N-Stitch. Brooke, shop owner extraordinairre, is an artist based in Alabama who just so happens to teach! So she has her fair share of childlike behavior. She wants everyone to indulge in their inner child and make use of that adventurous spirit, even if it involves organizing your desk.

For fall, Brooke is going all out with quirky and fun Photobooth accessories (chalkboard speech bubbles now in 6 different colors!), new jewelry stands, and her signature cork and chalkboards to help keep you organized all season long (if you last that long!). So what are you waiting for? Go play!

Now that temperatures are cooling down, I am thinking about cold weather accessories. And I am searching for handmade items that will last way past this upcoming season, that I can wear again and again.

In walks Aporta, a one of a kind and handmade neckwear shop using only the finest materials available, and I am hooked instantly. If I could afford it, I’d clean this shop out and have a different scarf for every day or the week. The craftsmanship is top notch and each piece is either hand knit or handwoven. Amazing!
