Love is definitely in the air this season; even some of our own Dujour girls and editors are getting married! And who doesn’t dream of a pink wedding? Pink on pink in the palest subtle shades of blush, a rose never smelled so sweet…these palest of pale pink confections are 100% silk chiffon over layers of silk charmeuse, and made by hand and available at Claire la Faye. Now this is a wedding we would attend!

She was the first, we have to say. And not long ago did we feature her on the pages of Dujour’s most treasured issue, The Vintage Issue, which you can still read here. designer discovery love: aporta

Now that temperatures are cooling down, I am thinking about cold weather accessories. And I am searching for handmade items that will last way past this upcoming season, that I can wear again and again.

In walks Aporta, a one of a kind and handmade neckwear shop using only the finest materials available, and I am hooked instantly. If I could afford it, I’d clean this shop out and have a different scarf for every day or the week. The craftsmanship is top notch and each piece is either hand knit or handwoven. Amazing!

If there ever were a true renaissance man, make that woman, Kathryn Blackmore would be it. She illustrates magnificently, concocts jewels artistically, and blogs about the whole thing beautifully. Her online presence has been ever changing since we first discovered her years ago, trudging away on Blogger, no one knowing her name. Now she is curator and designer to one of our very favorite indie shops. Her online accessory boutique is a whimsical and uber quaint excuse to pass time and spend some hard earned money. Based in the UK, Kathryn is a one woman force to be reckoned with. Her collection of nostalgic charms, cheery pom poms (with which we have such an addiction that has now turned into something almost illegal) and vintage baubles are inspired by natural history, and an exploration of traditional crafts with modern influences. Whatever her inspiration is, we are totally buying it. Well, both figuratively and literally of course. See for yourself. Shop here.
