Ever just want to run so fast your glass slipper falls off, you trip into Alice’s hole, and totally have a Wild Things moment? Maybe such a thing doesn’t exist for us adults, but one can dream. And well, when all else fails, one can hang a beautiful print too!

The extraordinarily talented Miss Caitlin Shearer, who was featured in our Art Issue, is steadily making huge waves in the worldwide art community. Caitlin’s signature intricately-detailed and playfully feminine style make her sketches and paintings take on legends and stories all of their own. Since she’s always painting, here are a few of her latest works!

Mizaru is an artist living in Melbourne, Australia who sells her whimsical prints on Etsy. Don’t ask me why I fall in love with so many of Oz’s finest, it just so happens those Aussies have something in their water. And whatever it is, I want some! If it would lead me to create such fantastical imagery as this, I wouldn’t mind drinking my required eight cups a day. In the meantime, let’s indulge in the beauty created by others.

Mizaru is prepping for her first set of gallery shows and stock in her shop is dwindling and won’t be available again for some time, so I would scoot along if I were you. Snatch some up for your walls before they’re all gone!

So you may not be a fan of pink, but its certainly hard to resist being enamoured with this dainty color.

I’ve gone through my phases (haven’t we all?) and throughout high school I scorned those who listened to pop music and was very attached to my olive green pumas. I was into grunge before it was even a trend. But I’ve lightened up some, and for me fashion and art are no longer a way to identify myself, instead I appreciate and love art in all it’s forms, and I look to see what I can learn from each different artist and their point of view. Any style is good in my books, from the ultra vintage to grungy to the ephemeral and the truly girly…

So needless to say I was thrilled to stumble upon Jackie Rueda’s photostream on Flickrt. Hailing from Canada (like myself!) she is clearly multi-talented as she juggles motherhood and work as a journalist, TV writer and photographer. While her collages are breathtaking collectives of other talented photographers, her own work (pictured above) is just as captivating and can be found in her etsy shop.

She is making gals and guys alike swoon all over the world, from her home in Australia all the way to Asia and back again. Her adorable characters can be found on everything from prints to totes. At any given time you’ll find Caitlin drawing beautiful watercolour pictures of girls wearing pretty dresses and delicate underwear. Her uniquely odd drawings have been commissioned by Hopeless Lingerie for their Rosie Pepper and Jewel Thief collections, and are available as prints or on lovely t-shirts.
