designer discovery love
I’ll admit, as editor-in-chief of a growing magazine, I’m just a tad busy. (Yes that was sarcasm haha) So forgive me for only just getting around to posting about one of my favorite new emerging accessory brands, Dannijo, after having discovered them shortly after watching the Karen Walker show at NYFW. Um, that would be NYFW of last year. Yes, I know, slowww! But you’ll soon forget after seeing the beauties I have curated below for your blog window shopping pleasure.

So it was a brisk winter-meets-spring day back in February. I was dressed in head to toe Vintage. Moschino logo belt, gorgeous peppered fur vest, leather stovepipe pants and sky high heels. I was in an utter state of bliss having just viewed yet another impressive collection from my Aussie fave (after Sass & Bide of course!) Karen Walker. I had a meeting with the PR Director of the building that we had just viewed the fashion show in. I was planning an event Dujour plans to sponsor annually, and just my luck the building was being used for a Parisian trade show. It was brimming with emerging designers from all over the world including newbies Alex & Eli who we quickly featured on the blog after seeing their spectacular collection of tailored and classically urban suit separates. But it was only when I asked during our tour to see where they had an appropriate dressing room area, that we were led downstairs where we landed eyes on Dannijo, like a hawk on prey, their luminous and rainbow colored collection of jewelry grabbed a hold of me and didn’t let go. Since then, naturally, they have popped up in press and media everywhere, and their latest accomplishment being a collaboration for the Luca Luca runway presentation.

the MAVERICK necklace, $595
Designer Danielle Snyder, along with her sister Jodie Snyder who helps in the business, could not have been a more jovial and enthusiastic duo to meet. They had the genuine aura of independent designers immersed in a craft they love. These two woman definitely have their finger on the pulse, and launched during the recession, but also when statement jewelry, especially necklaces, were making a huge comeback. With five different collections ranging from Americana to Rock and even one called Grace, there is something for everyone. Literally. All I can say is, you’ll be seeing their fabulous concoctions on a DUJOUR cover soon enough!
