Chanel Iman: an iconic name, not just for her namesake, but for her own rising as a supermodel known for walking runways from high profile designers to couture couturiers. At only eighteen years old, she’s walked hundreds of catwalks – her debut was in Fall/Winter 2006 season; since then, her career grew rapidly. Perhaps it was the adorable, signature wink that caught the eyes of the public; nonetheless, Chanel has become a celebrity in her own way, a celebrity amongst models.

She attended the release of Italian Vogue’s all black issue, making an appearance with Tyra Banks and other famed African American beauties. Though one of the youngest attendees, she was not short of looking fashionably adorable! With a plain, sating dress in an eye popping blue, Chanel accessorized the rather playful dress to kick it up just a notch to frivolous elegance. A wide belt not only shows off her tiny waist, but also adds some detail and definition to the dress. Keeping the attire simple, Chanel finishes the look with a small pendant and of course, Christina Louboutin Forever Tina Suede boots in black, fringes and all. Achieving this fun yet formal look for a day party is easy. Simply choose a plain dress in bold color – the brighter the better! Look for rich blues, purples, pinks, yellows (jewel tones work best for this look!). Accessorize with a wide, black belt to break up that mass of color, and match a pair of knee high boots with some sort of embellishment. If fringes seem a bit daunting, plain or studded boots work perfectly too!

About Kim Yang

I love fashion; I guess you could call it a passion of mine, one that started when I was a wee toddler, putting together outfits and putting on little runway shows for my camera-happy mother. And it was then when fashion grew on me, first starting as a girlish passion for wearing pretty little things and then evolving into much more. Perhaps claiming fashion to be a passion - or obsession - is a bit cliche on my part, since a majority of girls dream of a career in fashion. But fashion isn't simply a matter of looking sophisticated and knowing the trends; for me, it is a form of history and art - living history, if you will - that adapts and reflects what is going on in the now. That is the beauty of fashion: the very thing the draws me into it.
